Lucebaits Deadbaits Small Mackerel - 6
Lucebaits Deadbaits Small Mackerel - 6
Mackerel are probably the most popular bait sold today. Full of scent and blood, very tough, (especially the larger ones), and very low cost. The bait is extremely versatile and can be used legered with a traditional snap-tackle paternoster rig, popped up, float fished or wobbled. Larger fish are often fished as half baits often promoting instant attacks with the huge scent trail they leave behind. No self-respecting pike angler should ever leave home without a mackerel! Though we take every care possible in delivering your baits in good condition we are unable to control our couriers and there may be a possibility that bait is not frozen upon arrival.

Looking After Your Bait.
First things first, don't worry too much about your bait, though we all prefer a perfect good looking bait the fish are far less fussy! Mackerel, sardines and pollan are usually glazed to protect them to a certain extent but sometimes you may see evidence of freezer burn which disappears once in the water. Vac packed baits last for a couple of years provided the vacuum isn’t broken. A domestic freezer should be set as low as possible, baits keep better at lower temperatures.
Ideally baits should be taken to the waterside in some form of insulated box or bag ideally with a couple of freezer packs with them. Some anglers will put baits on the hooks while still frozen, you may need to get them out of the box ten minutes before starting to fish in this way your hooks can be worked into the bait without bending or breaking.
There are many well known anglers using Lucebaits including, Matt Hayes, Eddie Turner, Nige Williams, Steve Rowley, Alastair Rawlings, Graham Slater and Jason Davis. Thousands of predator anglers use them and though we cannot guarantee that you’ll catch anything at all on them, the fact that serious pike anglers choose them ought to offer some piece of mind, tight lines everyone!
