Blaser R8 Semi-Weight 19mm Barrel - Shortened Black
Blaser R8 Semi-Weight 19mm Barrel - Shortened Black
Blaser's interchangeable features define the R8 and its innovation. The ability to switch calibres in a few short moments with a single tool allows the rifle to adapt to almost any hunting situation and be fully prepared for the range. The Semi-Weight R8 barrel has a 19mm diameter and presents the excellent balance between sporter profile handling and reassuring stability when shooting prone. Blaser barrels are highly durable, weather-resistant and deliver supreme accuracy. The 19mm barrel is threaded M17x1 to accept a moderator.

Blaser R8 Standard, Fluted, Semi-Weight & Semi-Weight Fluted barrels are able to be shortened to suit the individual shooter's preference. For calibres that fall under small-bore, mini and standard calibre groups, the barrel is shortened from 580mm (22 3/4") to 520mm (20 1/2"). For calibres that fall under medium or magnum calibres, the barrel is shortened from 650mm (25 1/2") to 580mm (22 3/4").
Like the Blaser R93, the Blaser R8 is a modular system capable of switching barrels. When changing from one calibre to another within the same calibre family, no bolt head change is necessary. If going outside of the calibre group during a barrel exchange, the bolt head has to be changed as well. However, the bolt head can be exchanged quickly and easily.
Every Blaser R8 receiver will accommodate all barrel contours. However, for an appropriate fit, the proper forearm is also required. Using a forearm for a larger contour is not a problem if the user does not mind the extra gap between the barrel and forearm. A larger barrel contour will not fit in a standard professional stock or wooden forearm though. Extra forearms are available for wooden guns.
All barrels are supplied with relevant magazine inserts to suit calibres.
IMPORTANT: Medium, Magnum, Lapua, Swiss & Special calibre groups are subject to a surcharge. Please see link below for details on calibre groups and special calibres.
