BSA Lightning XL SE GRT Air Rifle Beech
BSA Lightning XL SE GRT Air Rifle Beech
For years, air guns have been powered by a metal main spring which when compressed and then released produces the energy to propel the pellet down the barrel. Now, we have taken our top selling model the Lightning with it SE refinements and powered it using a different engine? - a pneumatic ram filled with inert nitrogen. This is Gas Ram Technology. The GRT Lightning XL SE has all the new and improved features that its spring-powered sister has. A new two-stage trigger gives a crisp release with minimal pressure. A new stock has been designed with attractive chequering at the key touch points of fore-end and pistol grip. A slim-line silencer encases the barrel and reduces the sound of muzzle blast, whilst a ventilated butt pad ensures comfortable contact with the shooter?s shoulder. An addition to all these features the gas ram provides further benefits that enhance the shooter?s experience. The gas ram does not vibrate when discharged resulting in less gun movement when the trigger is pulled; the pellet exits the barrel at a faster speed resulting in better accuracy; the gas ram has a greater life expectancy than a spring with less likelihood of performance deterioration through metal fatigue whilst the cocking action is smoother and more even.

The BSA GRT Lightning XL SE is a gas ram powered air rifle that incorporates all the advanced features of its spring-powered counterpart. It boasts a new two-stage trigger that delivers a crisp release with minimal pressure. The cocking action of the BSA GRT Lightning XL SE is notably smoother, requiring consistent pressure from start to finish.
The gas ram offers several advantages that enhance the shooter’s experience. Unlike traditional spring rifles, the gas ram does not vibrate upon discharge. The ram moves smoothly down the cylinder, resulting in reduced gun movement and increased accuracy when the trigger is pulled. Additionally, the pellet exits the barrel at a higher speed, further improving accuracy. The gas ram also has a longer lifespan compared to spring rifles, with less risk of performance degradation due to metal fatigue, and the cocking action is both smoother and more consistent.
Moreover, the GRT Lightning SE features a volumetric silencer to minimize muzzle blast and a Maxi-Grip scope rail to maximize dampening effects. The new adjustable two-stage trigger requires minimal pressure to fire, and the redesigned chequered beech stock enhances the rifle's aesthetic appeal and performance, making it an excellent choice for hunters and pest controllers.
The new stock design includes attractive chequering at key touch points on the fore-end and pistol grip. A slim-line silencer encases the barrel to reduce muzzle blast sound, while a ventilated butt pad ensures comfortable contact with the shooter’s shoulder.
